Ellington Park

Ellington Park was ‘the perfect antidote to the sands’ in the 1900’s and is a Victorian 12 Acre park in Ramsgate, Thanet, with over 390 trees and rolling Victorian landscape.

Established as a public park in 1893, it was set out by landscape designer Joseph Cheal &Sons, who also designed Hever Castle, Kent.

Restoration Project

Since 2016 Thanet District Council and Friends of Ellington Park have been working in partnership, with support of the Heritage Lottery Fund ensuring the park’s important heritage remains in the hearts of the local people and central to Ramsgate’s regeneration.  Restored bandstand, terrace and Victorian landscape alongside newly built café, playground, community space and toilets were completed summer 2021.
