The Bookshop in a shipping container

The Friends of Ellington Park are supported by the funds from the bookshop which is set in a shipping container within the park, close to the wildlife area.  Here you will find a wide range of books starting at 50p each plus puzzles and games individually priced.  These are very kindly donated to the bookshop by park users and locals and all proceeds go towards improving the park for the future.

During the warmer weather months the bookshop is open on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s.

If you have any books, puzzles or games you would like to donate please contact Pat at the bookshop or email us at friendsofellingtonpark@gmail.com

Ellington Park Ramsgate – A short Celebratory History

Well-known local historian, Catriona Blaker, was so impressed with the regeneration work that took place in Ellington Park during lock-down that she wrote a book to celebrate!

As she says on the back cover: “There’s no doubt that 2021 calls for a new history of Ellington Park. The regeneration of the park is the start of a new and happier era for it and for all those who enjoy and support this fabulous jewel in Ramsgate’s crown. We hope readers will find this short account informative and interesting.”

A Short Celebratory of History written by Catriona Blake
Available to purchase from The Bookshop for £5

The Friends of Ellington Park say: “We are thrilled with this beautiful and colourful book and, at £5 per copy, it is really a jolly good read and we highly recommend it.”
We cannot thank Catriona enough for her support and generous gift, as all profits will be donated to Ellington Park.
Catriona’s late husband, Michael Blaker RE, loved Ellington Park and often painted and etched various aspects of it. His etching of the cherry trees adorns the front cover.
